Research On The Relationship Transformation Between Internet Youth Subculture And Mainstream Culture In Postmodern Context

With the popularization of the Internet,the current media environment has shown more and more obvious postmodern characteristics.In the postmodern context,the observation perspective of the Birmingham School on subcultures can no longer perfectly explain the current complex and diverse forms of online youth subcultures.This thesis introduces the postmodern theoretical framework,trying to clarify the turn of the relationship between the online youth subculture and the mainstream culture in the postmodern context.This thesis mainly consists of six chapters.The introduction part expounds the background,significance,object and innovation of the research.The first chapter makes a brief analysis of Bilibili as an online field,and clarifies the characterization of the relationship between the online youth subculture and the mainstream culture.The second,third and fourth chapters make a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between the online youth subculture and the mainstream culture from the macro,meso and micro levels.The second chapter takes a relatively macro perspective and discusses the changes in the relationship between the online youth subculture and the mainstream culture in the postmodern context from the perspective of cultural groups through participatory observation.The third chapter discusses the transformation of the relationship between mainstream culture and online youth subculture caused by the change of postmodern identity from the perspective of personal identity.The fourth chapter adopts a micro perspective,focusing on the changes of the subcultural styles of online youth in the postmodern context and the turning of the relationship between mainstream culture and subcultural styles.The fifth chapter expounds the motivation and result of the relationship between mainstream culture and online youth subculture.The sixth chapter explores the current social symptoms reflected behind the turn of online youth subculture and the significance of the relationship between mainstream culture and online youth subculture to mainstream culture,online youth subculture and society.In the postmodern context,the observation perspective of the Birmingham School on subcultures can no longer perfectly explain the current complex and diverse forms of online youth subcultures.Through the postmodern theoretical framework,this thesis discovers the postmodern turn of the online youth subculture itself in the postmodern context and the more postmodern turn of the relationship between the online youth subculture and the mainstream culture.Compared with the strong inclusion in the era of traditional subculture research,in the face of the weakening of the centrality of mainstream culture in the postmodern context,and the obvious tribalization of the online youth subculture,mainstream culture is more inclined to adopt more concealed and more adaptable postmodern The way the media environment exerts influence on the online youth subculture.With the help of the online youth subculture shell,the mainstream culture subtly penetrates into the online youth subculture tribe,producing meanings that conform to the mainstream ideology and expanding the influence of the mainstream culture.Although at present,there are many emerging online youth subcultures that have not been penetrated by mainstream ideology,but in general,this shift not only exists,but also has achieved good results.
