The Study Of Yingpanshan Culture’s Stages

The Yingpanshan Culture is a Neolithic archaeological culture that distributed in northwest of Sichuan Province.Yingpanshan Culture is represented by Yingpanshan site which has a small proportion of colored pottery that Majiayao Culture not existence and itspottery also has its own uniqueness.Judging this kind of heritage is different from Majiayao Culture,Yingpanshan Culture is the first to be identified and the most abundant heritage combined with Yingpanshan site,so it should be called Yingpanshan Culture.Since it was discovered in the 1920 s and 1930 s,it was only a few collections and test excavations,and the depth of understanding of it was relatively shallow when compared to other cultures.Later,with the advancement of a large number of archaeological work,valuable materials were provided for the study of this culture.According to the archaeological materials of Yingpanshan site,Haxiu site and Jiangweicheng site,the remains are analyed,the connotation of Yingpanshan Culture is discussed,and other related mterials are grouped.By combining stratigraphy and typology,taking pottery as the main reference factor,the materials of Yingpanshan cultural site are grouped,and then the Yingpanshan culture is divided into four periods.The relative age is determined by the stratigraphic relationship,and the absolute age is discussed by the C14 data of Yingpanshan site.The relationship between Yingpanshan Culture and surrounding cultures,mainly disscuss the Dadiwan Phase IV Culture,Majiayao Culture and Baodun Culture.Yingpanshan Culture has a great relationship with the Dadiwan Phase IV Culture and Majiayao Culture and it is of great significance to explore the origin of Baodun Culture.
