The rapid development of online Chinese teaching around the world has brought new opportunities and challenges to international Chinese education.Therefore,how to grasp the characteristics of online Chinese teaching and promote the development of international Chinese education is the most urgent task to build an excellent online international Chinese teaching faculty.This study explores the current situation of online teaching competence of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language,which has important theoretical and practical significance for improving the education theory of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language,and for the assessment and training of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language about online teaching ability.This research focuses on the online teaching competency of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language,mainly through questionnaires,interviews and statistical analysis to analyze the factors that affect their competencies,and then combines the perspectives of teachers and students to compare and analyze the competency status of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language.The competency of online teaching is carried out from three steps: the analysis of the survey results,the comparison and analysis of the scores of teachers and students,and the suggestions and inspirations.The analysis of the survey results of this study shows that the overall competence of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language in online teaching is good,and there are significant differences in the seven basic information of age,education background,major,teaching age,online Chinese teaching time,teaching institution,and teaching type.Seven basic information factors are effective factors affecting the online teaching competence of international Chinese teachers.The comparative analysis of the scores of teachers and students in this study shows that the trend of teachers’ self-assessment and students’ scores is roughly the same,and they all believe that the current online teaching competence of teachers of Chinese to speakers of other language is in good condition.The competency score of teaching and management dimension is low and needs to be improved.Based on the analysis of the survey data,this study puts forward relevant reference suggestions for improving the online teaching competence of international Chinese teachers in four aspects: talent training in colleges and universities,Confucius Institutes,teacher training in language institutions,and teacher self-improvement.
