The Study On Government News Commitment Speech Act And Its Pragmatic Effect Under Epidemic Situation

The use of language is a kind of behavior,so is the language of news.In this paper,the speech act theory is used to analyze the speech acts of the press spokesperson,using the content of the press conference related to COVID-19 issued by the State Council Information Office as the corpus,this paper focuses on the characteristics of government’s commitment speech acts in Public Health Emergencies,analyzes the pragmatic effects of government’s commitment speech acts in public health emergencies,and finally puts forward some suggestions.The thesis consists of the following five parts:The first part explains the origin and significance of the topic,introduces the corpus,research methods and research ideas,reviews the research on news speech acts and commitment speech acts by scholars,and reviews the current status of the research.The second part begins with a description of the process and characteristics of the development of COVID-19,which is the basis and premise of the article.Then a description of the connotation and function of news language is given,which leads to the classification of governmental news speech acts and their use.Finally,the reasons why we chose the commitment class of speech acts as the focus of the study are given.The third part introduces the connotation,rules,language representation and structure of commitment speech act.This paper classifies the speech act of commitment in detail,and analyzes the use of the speech act of commitment by the press spokesperson according to the corpus.The fourth part summarizes the characteristics and pragmatic effects of the speaker’s speech act of commitment,and puts forward specific suggestions for better performance of pragmatic effects.The fifth part is the summary of this article.
