| Vernacular China has solid historical roots and rich common social experience.As modernization accelerates,modern capital continues to impact on the network of rural relationships.Contemporary vernacular novels show a trend of pluralism and marginalization,but the spiritual core of the countryside remains rooted in traditional villages.Bi Feiyu,who entered the literary world as a "pioneer writer," is very perceptive and forward-looking about contemporary rural life,and his realistic brushstrokes have built up a picture of the relationship between urban and rural characters through the transformation of the 1980 s.This study takes the rural family relationships and their ethics in Bi Feiyu’s works as an entry point to explore the internal transformation and reconstruction of rural families in the midst of urban-rural changes.The first chapter analyzes the rural characters’ images.Bi Feiyu focuses on the individuality of the characters and emphasizes the influence of the era environment on the dignity,power,and destiny of the characters.Based on the characters’ survival posture,there are three main categories: rural abusers,rural resisters,and rural outsiders.The village abusers reflect the operation of the rural power body,the resistance of the rebels reveals the law of folk survival,and the village outsiders are the bystanders at the junction of inside and outside the village.The second chapter sorts out the ethical relationships in the countryside.First of all,the characters are divided into the traditional ethical relationships: rural family ethics,rural love ethics,rural justice ethics,and anti-country ethics;secondly,the influence of the "law of the jungle" on traditional rural ethics is examined in depth,and the relationships between the rural characters reflect Bi Feiyu’s insights into the operation of power,human weakness,and harm and harmed issues.Finally,the social nature of Bi Feiyu’s rural ethical relationships is examined in the light of traditional Chinese ethical concepts and modern ethical narratives.The third chapter analyzes the spirit of the countryside and the emotions of the writer.The run-in between urban and rural areas will inevitably lead to the weakening of traditional agricultural civilization and bring about a double impact of material and spiritual.Under the mode of "leaving the hometown-returning to the hometown-leaving the hometown again",Bi Feiyu attaches great importance to the fate of the characters,gazes at the rural spirit behind the rural ethics and rural customs,presents the contemporary continuation and variation of the traditional rural spirit under the contrast between urban and rural areas,and focuses the problem of human nature into the differences between urban and rural areas,And Bi Feiyu’s attention focuses on revealing his creative attitude and creative emotions.The third chapter analyzes the spirit of the countryside and the writer’s emotions.The urban-rural friction inevitably leads to the weakening of traditional agricultural civilization,bringing both material and spiritual impacts.In the mode of "leaving the countryside-returning to the countryside-leaving the countryside again",Bi Feiyu attaches great importance to the fate of his characters and focuses on the rural spirit behind rural ethics and rural customs,presenting the contemporary continuity and variation of the traditional rural spirit in the contrast between urban and rural areas,and focusing the issue of humanity to the issue of urban-rural differences.Bi Feiyu’s attention reveals his creative attitude and emotions.In general,Bi Feiyu’s novels are written about rural ethical relationships with a modern aesthetic interest of flexibility and perseverance and a far-sighted sense of concern,with subtle and dynamic language,vigorous characters,and upright emotional values,which attract readers to think and reflect. |
