On the geographical map of Chinese regional films,the screen presentation of regional space is often used as the image examination and cultural gene recognition of films.Regional space,with its RECOGNIZABLE audio-visual elements and narrative elements,expresses meanings,thus becoming a prominent feature to judge the regional attributes of films.In the field of cultural geography,region usually refers to regional space.People’s perception of regional space mainly depends on perceptual cognition and psychological cognition.As a complex of natural elements and human factors,regional space shines because of its landscape,locality and regional culture reflected by humanism.With the deep exploration of "space turn",it has become a research trend to investigate the film art with the concept of regional space.After nearly 80 years of light and shadow circulation,Inner Mongolia films have produced a number of films showing the "new Grassland" and urban space in the process of modernization since the new century,which are obviously different from the "grass-roots images" previously constructed on the screen to show horse back legends,ethnic fables and heroic epics.Looking at the development process of Inner Mongolia films,from the glorious "grassland image" to the simultaneous flowering of "new grassland image" and "town image",the screen transformation of regional space in Inner Mongolia films has become a breakthrough artistic innovation of Inner Mongolia films since the new century,breaking the audience’s stereotyped grassland impression of Inner Mongolia,and making Inner Mongolia films maintain regional characteristics and break regional barriers in the highly competitive regional films,Keep up with the trend of the times.At present,regional films in the context of globalization and the community of human destiny have received unprecedented attention.In the global,national,regional(Western)and local geospatial nested structure,"Inner Mongolia film",as one of the diverse and heterogeneous parts of regional films,needs to be accurately identified and described.When the original space with the most regional recognition of Inner Mongolia and the modern social space are compressed into the "space-time capsule" of film,the ethnic characteristics in Inner Mongolia film can no longer be rooted in the original cultural soil under the impact of modernity,but can only be used as a cultural symbol,suspended on the regional space,and become a "floating signifier";As a result,thanks to the presentation of regional space on the screen,regional characteristics gradually gained legitimacy,even replaced the status of ethnic characteristics,and became the most recognizable regional film logo.The unique regional space breeds the unique regional culture.In the impact of globalization,urbanization and modernization,how Inner Mongolia film highlights its local characteristics and cultural temperament in China’s regional film landscape,and how the deep connotation of its local customs,cultural base and ethnic temperament can be represented by the spatial carrier of region is the problem explored in this paper.This paper adopts the interdisciplinary method,text analysis method,comparative analysis method and inductive summary method to study.The first chapter of this paper attempts to give a detailed overview of Inner Mongolia film.In the first section,it defines the concept of "Inner Mongolia film" and traces its development history;Carding the general situation of Inner Mongolia film production since the new century;In addition,the paper makes a multi-dimensional observation on the Inner Mongolia film from the perspective of nationality,regional perspective,globalization era and the context of the community of human destiny,so as to explain why it is a regional film.The second chapter analyzes how the regional space of Inner Mongolia film is constructed by exploring the original ecological space,modern space and mixed space.The third chapter analyzes the meaning production of regional space in Inner Mongolia films since the new century from three perspectives,namely,the Narrative Significance of regional space,the rhetorical significance of regional space and the philosophical significance of regional space.The fourth chapter explores the cultural representation of regional space from three aspects:sound system,visual system and spiritual system,and refines the spiritual state of regional culture in Inner Mongolia.The fifth chapter of this paper makes a prospect for the future development of Inner Mongolia films by analyzing the creative inspiration of Inner Mongolia young directors,in order to provide value and experience for the creation of regional films.
