Normal education is the cornerstone of educational work.Strengthening the quality of normal college students is an important task of College Physical Education in the new era.In normal universities,the proportion of female students is about 70%.It is very important to strengthen the sports literacy of female students majoring in normal universities.Latin dance plays an important role in improving the body shape,physical quality and self-confidence of female college students.Cha Cha dance and Rumba Dance are the basic dances of Latin dance,which are suitable for beginners to learn.Taking Latin dance as the way of sports intervention and the two basic Latin dances of rumba and cha cha as the intervention content,this paper carries out sports intervention for female normal college students for one semester.On the principle of voluntariness,63 female college students majoring in normal education of XX University were selected as the experimental subjects for 16 weeks of exercise intervention.The physical health,physical self-concept and self-confidence data of students in each group were measured before and after exercise intervention.In the physical health test,the body shape was tested by BMI,waist hip ratio and body fat rate;Physical fitness was tested by 7 indexes: 50 m,800m,long jump,sitting body flexion,one minute sit ups,cross quadrant jump and standing with one leg closed eyes;Physical function was tested by two indexes: vital capacity and step experiment.Rosenberg’s psychological self-confidence scale,revised by the American psychologist Rosenberg.Test the homogeneity of the measured data before the exercise intervention to ensure the effectiveness of the data after the experiment;Paired sample t-test was conducted on the data before and after the exercise intervention in each group,and one-way ANOVA was conducted on the data between each group after the exercise intervention to analyze whether the data need to have significant differences.Conclusions:(1)through 16 weeks of Latin dance learning,the physical health level of female normal college students has been improved.The students’ body is more harmonious and beautiful than the column,and their body shape has been significantly improved,with statistically significant difference(P < 0.05);The physical quality has been improved in varying degrees.One minute sit ups,one foot standing with eyes closed,and sitting body flexion have been significantly improved,with statistically significant differences.The 50 m,800m,standing long jump and cross quadrant jump have been improved,but there is no statistically significant difference;The level of physical function was improved,but there was no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05).(2)Latin dance learning had a positive effect on body self-concept and 11 sub dimensions,among which sports ability,overall body,coordination,flexibility,appearance and self-esteem had significant differences(P < 0.05);There was no significant difference among the five dimensions of health,endurance,strength,physical obesity and physical activity(P > 0.05)(3)The self-confidence of the students in the experimental group was improved,and there was a statistically significant difference(P < 0.05).(4)There was no significant difference in physical education course scores between the experimental group and the control group(P > 0.05).(5)Students have a positive attitude towards the selected content and learning of this public sports special elective course.The students who choose Latin dance as the special elective content are 82% satisfied with the Latin dance learning and 87.5%satisfied with the selected special subject.
