A Study On The Polyphony Of Shchedrin's 24 Preludes And Fugue

One of the most important and charming composers of the twentieth century in Soviet Russia,Shchedrin Rodion Konstantinovich is a modern composer who combines tradition,modernity and nationality with a personalized artistic charm and is deeply influenced by traditional polyphony.In his compositions,Schedrin makes extensive use of techniques such as free and complex counterpoint and tonal expansion,as well as expresses his emotional expression through the Russian folk music gene in his traditional and modern composition techniques,which vividly and profoundly reflects the perfect fit between rationality and sensibility in his music and his continuous exploration in the journey of polyphonic research.The thesis is divided into three parts: the Introduction,the Body(Chapters 1,2 and 3)and the Conclusion.The Introduction introduces the origin and significance of the topic,an overview of the current state of research,and the approach and methodology of the study.The main text is divided into three chapters,the first chapter mainly describes the background and analysis of Shchedrin’s music composition and "24 Preludes and Fugues".The second chapter summarizes Scheindlin’s compositional characteristics,set principles,technical connotations and writing techniques in his 24 Preludes and Fugues through an analysis of the polyphonic technique of his Preludes and Fugues.The third chapter summarizes the polyphonic technique of Shchedrin’s 24 Preludes and Fugues from the perspective of synchronicity and diachronicity,and concludes that the artistic characteristics of the fusion of tradition,modernity and nationality in his works are concluded.The conclusion is summarized from three aspects: first,Shchedrin’s diversified musical styles and modern composition techniques;The second is the inheritance,development and innovation of Shchedrin’s polyphonic techniques.Finally,the enlightenment and reference significance of "Shchedrin style" polyphonic thinking and its creation techniques to the development and creation of traditional polyphonic music in China are proposed.
