Compared with the rich timbre of the orchestra, the piano is a multi-voice instrument with a single timbre. In piano performance, many piano masters have mentioned to pursue the "three-dimensional" and "colorful" sound.Piano suite "four seasons" is composed of relatively short compositions, structure is simple, theme development also not complex, compared to a genre of works such as sonata, its dramatic conflicts are not very strong, but it is still Tchaikovsky unique style and very important piano works, and was Alexander Gauk successfully adapted for orchestral version and gained wider play.No matter from the understanding of the work itself or the way to deduce it,the symphonic multi-layer color presented in this work can not be ignored and is worth our attention and exploration.Based on the comparative analysis of the two versions, this paper uses the orchestration of the orchestral version to deepen the understanding of the level and color of the piano version,so as to improve the ability to understand and perform the piano works. This paper first defines the concept of "symphonic",that is,mainly from the perspective of symphonic level and color contrast to explore the text understanding and interpretation of the Four Seasons;Secondly,it makes a comparative analysis of the musical texts of the two versions, and analyzes the symphonic characteristics reflected in the levels and colors of the works from the four dimensions of intensity, range span, texture type and timbre configuration. Finally,it discusses the symphonic interpretation of the four Seasons from four aspects: the imitation of orchestral timbre, the color difference of piano texture, the contrast of dynamics and the pedal. From the comparison of versions,The piano version can learn from the requirements of the orchestral version to further subdivide the dynamics level; The span of the piano version provides sufficient space for the presentation of the "symphonic" level and the expression of color. When reading music score,we can understand the level and color of the vertical and horizontal voice parts in the music score more carefully according to the change of the voice range of the orchestral version. The piano version can use the orchestration method of the orchestral version for reference to carry out a clear division of each part and level; The piano version can use the orchestral timbre of the orchestral version for reference to imagine and simulate the timbre of all levels of the texture. From the perspective of interpretation, the performance interpretation can be carried out from four dimensions: exploring the imitation of orchestral timbre by different piano tones, refining the color differences at different levels in piano texture, grasping the contrast between scene description and mood transformation, and using the beautification effect of pedal.Through the comparative analysis of Tchaikovsky’s piano suite "the four seasons" and the orchestral version and the exploration of the way of performance, compared with the way of pure piano thinking, hoping to establish another kind of relatively objective orchestral thinking to interpret the four seasons,to explore the symphonic sound colors in the four seasons, and to reasonably deduce the sound colors and multi-layers,that it extends to other piano works, not just as a single-tone instrument, but with this kind of orchestral thinking to understand piano works,to interpret the rich timbre and multi-layered symphony stereo in piano works.
