The Effect Of Pitch On The Emotional Induction Of College Students With Specific Personalities

Music has been proved to be one of the most effective methods of emotional induction at present.The studies on the effects of internal factors of music on emotional induction are mostly focused on tonality,rhythm,speed,and other factors.It is rare to explore its influence on emotional induction from the perspective of pitch factors.Pitch,as a basic music factor,usually analyzes music emotion together with other music factors.In the case of the same pitch and different other music factors,the same pitch can express different emotions.As an audience factor,personality traits have a certain influence on the effect of emotional induction.Based on the music cue consistency model,this study explores the influence of pitch and personality traits on music emotion induction,and whether pitch can affect the music emotion induction effect of college students with different personality traits.Is there a correlation between pitch factors and personality traits on the effect of music emotion?This study is divided into experiment one and experiment two.Experiment 1adopted a mixed experimental design of 2(music emotion)× 2(personality traits).The emotions of individuals with a high extroverted personality and high neurotic personality were induced by original positive emotional music and original negative emotional music.The emotional pleasure and arousal of the subjects were recorded to study the effects of music expressing different emotions on the emotions induced by college students with different personality traits without pitch contrast.In experiment 2,a mixed experimental design of 2(music emotion)× 3(pitch)× 2(personality trait)was adopted.The emotions of individuals with two personality traits were induced by music that systematically raised the pitch by octaves and decreased octaves,as well as the positive and negative emotions of the original tone,recorded the emotional pleasure and arousal of the subjects,and explored whether the musical emotion expressed by the music after the pitch change of the system changed.And to explore the differences of emotion induced by the music after the pitch change of the system in college students with different personality traits.The results show that:The original music of a specific emotion can induce the corresponding emotion,which is consistent with the results of previous studies.2.Both individuals with specific personalities can induce corresponding emotions by the original music of specific emotions.The emotional nature induced by different emotional music is related to personality traits,which will have an impact on the emotional nature induced by different emotional music.3.The specific emotional music that systematically increases the octave and decreases the octave can still induce the corresponding emotion,and the change of systematic pitch can not only affect the positive and negative emotion induced by music but also affect the emotional intensity induced by music.4.Pitch has no significant effect on individual emotion induction with different personality traits,and pitch and personality traits have no significant correlation with the effect of music emotion induction.In this study,the effect of pitch on emotional induction of college students with specific personality was observed through behavioral experiments,which provides a theoretical basis for further understanding the factors affecting emotional induction.It provides a guiding significance for the future music personalized education,music personnel training and music intervention,and provides a new reference value for the future music creation and development.
