A Study On The "Hypocrisy" Of Adrian Ghenie’s Paintings | | Posted on:2023-12-03 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:H H Yang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555306800991629 | Subject:Fine Arts | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Since the Second World War,the global art center has gradually migrated from Paris,France to New York,the United States.Western modern and contemporary art is expanding towards diversified forms.The iterative rise and fall between "doctrine" and "school" promotes the blending and juxtaposition of painting language in the torrent of dramatic changes of the times.Until the motivation of anti artistic tendency appears,the expression of "concept" and "behavior" has become the object highly respected by the mainstream art,which makes easel painting subordinate and on the edge of being ignored or dying.As one of the most influential artists in Romania,Adrian Ghenie has not lost himself in the process of historical development.He is more committed to the spiritual depiction of canvas representation,absorbs the artistic style of western traditional Baroque and the gorgeous color of Post Impressionism,reflects on the historical trauma left after the war,embraces both,recombines the layout through misappropriation,and constructs a new Highly personalized art system.Then the comprehensive analysis of Ghenie’s art is conducive to better explore the "hypocrisy" characteristics contained in his paintings,so as to deepen the understanding of his artistic concept.In the process of discussion,this paper will take iconology,semiotics and psychology as the theoretical basis,and use the research methods of art history such as style analysis and image analysis to explore the expression of "hypocrisy" in Ghenie’s painting in the historical context.It is mainly summarized in the following four chapters:the first chapter discusses the origin of the "hypocrisy" of Adrian Ghenie’s paintings,including the definition of the concepts of "hypocrisy" and "hypocrisy",the trauma of Romanian historical memory and the inheritance of western traditional artistic expression methods,and examines the endogenous logic of the formation of Ghenie’s "hypocrisy" characteristics from the early social background;The second chapter interprets the connotation representation of "hypocrisy" in Ghenie’s paintings from multiple perspectives,and discusses it from two aspects: the sustenance and expression of emotional imbalance and the intervention and blending of symbolic elements.It interprets Ghenie’s use of rational and perceptual impromptu Abstract creation and self emotional expression of mystery and fantasy to vent the lonely dialogue accumulated in his heart,so as to highlight the strong meaning of "hypocrisy" in his paintings;The third chapter mainly studies the formal language characteristics of "hypocrisy" of Ghenie’s painting from the perspective of iconology,and makes a multi-dimensional analysis from the aspects of "grotesque" visual communication,"Metaphorical" symbolic technique,"collage" overprint style and the artistic language structure exposed by the picture,as well as the cross integration of image media,so as to understand the influence of the evolution of Ghenie’s painting style on "hypocrisy";The fourth chapter expounds the practical significance of the "hypocrisy" of Ghenie’s painting in Chinese contemporary art and the enlightenment and influence of his unique formal language and painting concept on the author’s creation.By exploring the value source of his paintings,we can transform them into the artistic soil of our nation,so as to promote the vigorous development of Chinese contemporary art.The "hypocrisy" feature of Adrian Ghenie’s painting is based on the high combination of artistic concept and formal language in the context of the current era.It has always focused on the relationship between self and history,trying to find the coincidence of the two,and create more avant-garde and connotative works of art.By studying the "hypocrisy" of Ghenie’s painting,it is helpful to understand the historical context of Romanian contemporary art,and has great reference and enlightenment significance for the development of traditional easel painting,which can provide more innovative formal language and unique artistic perspective for Chinese contemporary art. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Ghenie, Hypocrisy, embezzlement, Collage, metapho | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
