| Italian piano composer,performer and educator Muzio Clementi(1752-1832)occupies an important position in the history of piano art,and is known as the "father of modern piano performance" and "father of piano sonata".He created the modern piano performance technology system,founded the legato play,continued the Baroque style,developed the romantic style.Clementi’s piano Sonata Op.50,composed in 1804-1805 and published in 1821,consists of three pieces: Piano Sonata in A major,Op.50 No.1,Piano Sonata in D Minor,Op.50 No.2,and Piano Sonata in G minor,Op.50 No.3.This is his last set,and the essence of his work.In terms of artistic style,the three works not only continued the broken style of the Baroque period,but also opened the dramatic style of the romantic period.In terms of work techniques,the three works use octave,mold,homophone repetition,echo and other materials to enrich the musical expression.For the works in the transition period,we should play the sound effect that accords with the characteristics of The Times based on the Angle of emotion and combined with strength,speed and pedal.However,through literature research and current music practice,I think this work has not been explored and paid attention to.This has to be said to be the field of music performance research and music performance.Based on this understanding,this paper takes Clementi’s last piano sonata Op.50 as the research object,and uses literature analysis and music analysis to explore its artistic style.On the basis of objective historical data and music analysis,the performance characteristics of the three works are summarized from the perspectives of playing style,playing techniques and playing emotion through listening and analyzing Howard Shelley’s playing version and his own practical playing comprehension,and their historical value and practical significance are explored.This paper consists of five parts.The introduction part mainly discusses the reason of the topic selection,research significance,research methods,research review and innovation.The innovation of this paper lies in the material innovation and piano music style research during the transition period.The first chapter briefly introduces Clementi’s life story,personal contribution and piano sonata creation based on his works and journal articles.The second chapter analyzes the structural materials of the three piano sonatas,and finds that clementi’s three piano sonatas,in addition to the conventional sonata form,single trilogy form and multiple trilogy form,also have ancient bipartite form.Based on the analysis of tonality and harmonic color of three piano sonatas,it is found that Clementi made tonal changes by means of modulo in tone,near relation in tone,minus seventh chord in tone,distant relation in major and minor of homophonic tone,common chord in tone and contraption in tone.The third chapter interprets three piano sonatas from three perspectives of style,technique and emotion.Clementi continued the style of the Baroque period,initiated the dramatic style of performance,the use of octave,homophone repetition,two degrees of progression,dot rhythm and other techniques to enhance the power of the music.The fourth chapter is the value judgment of the three piano sonatas,summing up Clementi’s artistic style,aesthetic characteristics,historical value and realistic significance.In the use of rich expression in terms of his work,emphasize the rhythm of the intrinsic motivation,attaches great importance to the skill level of the play,music drama,lyrical and dynamic performance than the baroque and classical periods obtained the unprecedented performance,his music full of vigor and vitality,glorious and magnificent,for the piano music and piano teaching have a very good reference and inspiration. |
