After the Chinese character"Libian(隶变)",Chinese characters have been established for more than 2,000 years.The early Chinese characters were complicated in shape and structure,with many strokes and inconvenient writing.Therefore,the simplification of the shape and structure of Chinese characters has been going on since ancient times.In ancient times,this simplification was mainly manifested that a"traditional Chinese character"would produce its"abbreviated variant character",and this simplification phenomenon has not been interrupted for more than 2,000 years.The result is that most Chinese characters have corresponding abbreviations.Alien characters.However,these abbreviations did not form a norm that was promoted and used at the national level until the end of the Qing Dynasty.During the period of the Republic of China,a simplified Chinese character scheme was also formulated,but it was not promoted.It was not until after liberation that the central government fully established the implementation plan and norms of simplified characters,replacing the traditional characters.In the past,the discussion on the process of changing Chinese characters from complex to simplified mainly focused on the writing and use of Chinese characters and teaching,and the research method was mainly qualitative analysis.From a method point of view,the changes in the structure of Chinese characters are actually in line with the laws of mathematical statistics,especially in the context of digitization and informatization,it is necessary to use relevant quantitative analysis methods.Quantitative analysis is carried out in the process,and basic quantitative conclusions are deduced through the statistics and calculation of the samples.The purpose is to make the research on the complex and simple problems of Chinese characters more scientific in nature,and try to provide universal constant parameters.This paper uses mathematical software to convert the traditional Chinese characters into lengths and compare them by means of image calculation,which simplifies the comparison of traditional and simplified characters,reduces the workload and improves the accuracy of the calculation.This paper selects 2080 simplified characters and their corresponding 2182 traditional glyphs from the first and secondlevel character lists in the "General Standard Font List" released in 2013 as the research object,and uses the mathematical software MATLAB to calculate the glyph images,and obtain The length of each glyph is combined with the information entropy theory to calculate the glyph information entropy of each character.The statistical analysis software SPSS is used to analyze the data of the calculation results,to study the changes of the length and information entropy of the characters from complex to simplified,and to express the advantages of simplified characters in the form of data.After the research,it was found that the length of the glyphs of each group of traditional and simplified characters was reduced by 18.9%,and the information entropy was reduced by 7%.The length and entropy values of the glyphs actually implied the length of time.It is more convenient to read the current simplified Chinese characters than the traditional Chinese characters.The research methods and data results of this paper can provide new demonstration methods and more specific and intuitive data explanations for explaining the rationality of Chinese character simplification.The full text is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which briefly introduces the research on the simplification of Chinese characters,the influence of psychology and mathematics on the research methods of Chinese characters,and the research on Chinese ontology using information entropy,and finally introduces the research ideas of this paper.The second part is the specific processing method and calculation method of the glyph image.The third part is the statistical analysis of the glyph length data,and the traditional and simplified character groups are also classified according to the glyph changes from traditional to simplified.Then the average change of its length,and finally analyze the advantages of using simplified characters according to the calculation results.The fourth part is the statistical analysis of the glyph information entropy data,and based on the classification results of the third part,the information entropy difference of each type of word group is analyzed,and then the average change of the information entropy after the glyph changes from traditional to simplified is calculated.According to the calculation results,the advantages of using simplified characters are obtained.The fifth part is the conclusion,which mainly introduces the research results and significance of this paper,as well as the expectations for the future.
