| Nowadays,the importance of knowledge economy and lifelong reading is emphasized in today’s society.Reading has become the important way to get information.And reading ability has become an important capacity to analyze and judge the information.In these years,the traditional reading ability has been gradually replaced by the concept of English reading literacy,which emphasized the importance of cultivating thinking ability.The theme of this paper is based on the concept of thinking activities in the process of reading;reading ability with critical perspectives and the process of English teaching.This paper starts from the following three research questions: Firstly,what is the current situation of junior high school students’ English reading ability and critical thinking ability?Secondly,what are the real reasons behind this phenomenon? Thirdly,how to improve the English reading ability of junior high school students?From the relevant research view,we can see that critical thinking ability can be cultivated and developed through conscious training,and junior middle school is the key period to cultivate this ability.Through questionnaires and interviews,and the pre-test and post-test,the reasons behind the phenomenon are analyzed.This paper analyzes the design of the question to improve the English reading ability of junior high school students.The results showed that the English reading ability of junior high school students still need to be further improved,and the key factor is teachers’ reading guidance in English reading teaching.The question design of critical reading perspective helps students to get rid of the limitations of the superficial learning of the text,actively explore the connotation of the text,expand their thinking and connect with reality.They can judge and speculate from a critical perspective while reading,then they could subtly improve their critical thinking and reading ability. |
