As the beginning of Chinese civilization and a requisite part of ancient history,the "Three Emperors and Five Emperors" has deeply affected the thought,behavior and psychology of Chinese people and the process of Chinese cultural construction for thousands of years.Their great achievements have directly or indirectly promoted the development of human civilization.However,most people in modern times have only a half-understanding of the concept of the "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors".Many people do not know who the "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors" were,nor are they familiar with the stories behind them.Under the condition of China vigorously carrying forward the excellent traditional culture,this has become an urgent problem to be solved.As a leading word adventure game platform in China,Cheng Guang tries many aspects of its game works around the design concept of edutainment,specifically involving English teaching,college entrance examination simulation,promoting excellent traditional culture at home and abroad and other fields,which is very suitable for the promotion of the myths and legends of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors.This thesis takes the myth and legend of the "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors" as the theme,takes the design of a word adventure game as the main practical purpose,and combines history,aesthetics,design,communication and other fields to create a graduation design project of the "Strange Tales from Chinese Ancestors" from the perspective of art.This thesis explores the embodiment of edutainment in word adventure games on Cheng Guang Interactive platform,summarizes the design theory of interactive word adventure games,as well as the design methods of such games,with compares and extracts the artistic images and typical stories of different versions about the "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors" based on the questionnaire and data analysis.To sort out and define the system of the "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors" in this game,complete the production of the game script and subsequent design.In the process of game production,author imported several cases and interdisciplinary results as theoretical support,and finally completed the overall production of the game "Strange Tales from Chinese Ancestors",as well as the subsequent game profit model and game peripheral design,laying a solid foundation for the further development of this project.
