Research On Lai Shengchuan's Drama Structur

In dramatic works,the organization of structure is not only a way of telling a story,but also a way of expressing the director’s discourse.Through the organization of drama structure,the inner soul of drama is gradually revealed.Stan Lai is a playwright and director.He is unique in the organization of the drama structure.And his works have a strong personal style.Inspired by his predecessors,influenced by western and Chinese cultures,and influenced by the Ancient Greek art of Satyrus,Noh theater,film,music,literature,etc.,Stan Lai has inherited and innovated the traditional drama structure.His works break the linear structure and organization,and seek multi-level and multi-angle possibilities in time and space.Most of his dramatic works show the structural features of“Collage” and“Nesting”,it can be sorted out and summarized as“Contrast structure”,“Collage structure”,“Drama-in-drama structure”,“Loopback structure”.At the same time,according to the needs of the plot and the expression of emotions,Stan Lai integrates different structural organization methods and uses them flexibly.Under the support of unique drama structure,his works reveal observations and reflections on the human spiritual situation,meaning of life,and spiritual care at the aesthetic and philosophical levels.With the accumulation of his creative experience,Stan Lai continues to create new organizational models of theatrical structure,which he combines with human emotions to convey the discourse core of the works and create the public value of the drama.In this paper,literature review,Case Study,theatre viewing and interviews are used to explore the unique dramatic structure of Stan Lai’s plays,as well as the artistic characteristics and ideological core conveyed through his dramatic structure.At the same time,this paper,in recognition of Stan Lai’s great contribution to the field of drama,puts forward some thoughts on how to balance the commercialization and artistry of Stan Lai’s dramatic works.Hopefully,the research in this paper can extend the research results of related theories and provide practical guidance for drama creation.
