| The Miao folk songs are the folk songs of the Miao ancestors who worked collectively, composed collectively and agreed upon in ancient times;they not only reflect the historical development, social life and folk customs of the Miao people, but also embody the ethnic image, creative drive, psychological characteristics and ethnic personality of the Miao people, and are an important part of Miao culture and art.The Miao folk songs of northern Xiangxi have distinctive artistic characteristics and forms of expression, and are an important part of Miao folk songs in China, which are of great significance to the transmission of Miao culture and Miao folk songs. This study takes the singing style of the Miao folk songs of northern Xiangxi as the object of study, and discusses the classification of their singing styles, musical characteristics, singing forms, singing methods, and embellishment singing, etc. It also explores and discusses the artistic charm, artistic characteristics and expression of the Miao folk songs of northern Xiangxi by means of literature review, field investigation, analysis of singing characteristics and case studies. The Miao folk songs of northern Xiangxi can be divided into Shanjiang,Donghe Gaoxiang,Donghe Ping,Hoya Kuyou,Lashan Songtao and Ludong Shan according to their characteristics, singing style and rhythm. Each type of song has different singing characteristics, liner notes and lyric features, but all of them are rhymed and harmonious, with a bright rhythm and pleasing to the ear. From the point of view of the singing form, singing method, technique and lyric, the Miao folk songs have a complete structure and a free rhythm, most of them do not have a fixed beat and are often sung in a loose board, which is not disturbed by outside music and culture,so they maintain their unique ethnic style and are highly recognizable.Miao songs are sung in solo, unison, duet, mixed and multi-part groups, but solo, duet and unison singing are the main forms, with improvised lyrics,of which duet is the most characteristic form among the northern Miao folk songs. The Miao folk songs of northern Xiangxi can be divided into several types, including real voice singing, falsetto singing and alternating real and falsetto singing. The Miao folk songs are characterised by the use of liner notes and ornamental tones, which are often sung with vibrato, guttural, nasal, straight and glissando tones, making their melodies more infectious.Through the above study of Miao folk songs,I have gained a deep understanding of the history, singing style and artistic forms of Miao folk songs, but of course there are still shortcomings, and I will continue to improve and strengthen them through study in the future.I also hope that everyone will actively participate in the research, transmission and singing of the Miao folk songs in western Hunan. |
