Application And Expression Of Plant Elements In Illustration

Plant elements are the most representative symbols of nature.They are often used in various types of illustration in both ancient and modern times.This paper argues for the close relationship between plant elements and illustration by observing the application of plant elements in different types of illustration in the development of Chinese and Western illustration.It is because plant elements are repeatedly used as visual elements in various illustration works,so the proper use of plant elements in illustration works will bring a sense of familiarity to the viewer.We analyze and list the common types of plants used in illustration and their respective forms and symbolic meanings.After having a general idea of the plant elements in past illustrations,we will use various case studies in the text to demonstrate the functional role of good illustration works that make good use of plant elements in illustration.Illustrators can use suitable botanical elements in their illustrations to make the illustrations more vibrant and interesting.Whether using traditional painting techniques or new and convenient tools,plants can be used in illustration to add liveliness and color to illustration works.A more purposeful use of plant elements in the creation of illustrations can not only enrich and decorate the picture itself,but also enrich the cultural connotation of the work.
