Study On The Brushwork And Ink Modeling Of Xu Wei's Flower Painting

"There are probably no flowers and leaves,in a mass of old smoke" is a good interpretation of Xu Wei’s pen and ink modeling.Through the analysis of the brush and ink modeling of peony theme in Xu Weida’s freehand flower paintings,this paper abstracts the ink and wash techniques and painting ideas that are helpful to our current artistic creation.The article focuses on the characteristics of Xu Wei’s pen and ink modeling,and then traces back to the source.In addition to the influence of the commonness of the times,Xu Weida’s freehand flower painting also played a great role in its own experience.On the other hand,in the research process,the "lawless" pen and ink talent and unique creative techniques have become the most eye-catching focus of Xu Wei’s freehand brushwork.Therefore,taking the peony theme painting as the starting point,this paper expounds the modeling characteristics,ink painting techniques,painting with books,emotional catharsis and other elements.Using the method of observation and comparison,the particularity of each point is highlighted.Later,Xu Wei is compared with painters who also have unique ink painting techniques in history,so that readers have a clearer understanding of Xu Wei’s pen and ink modeling.Xu Wei’s painting philosophy and artistic attitude are what I agree with and yearn for.The study of his pen and ink modeling is undoubtedly an excellent guidance for our creation.Therefore,at the end of the article,I sort out the Enlightenment of Xu Wei’s pen and ink modeling to my creation,in order to clarify the characteristics of Xu Wei’s freehand flower painting pen and ink modeling.
