| This paper summarizes the artistic characteristics of fresco and woodcut,so that the author has a deeper understanding of the similarities and similarities between the two forms,so as to find a way for the author’s artistic creation.The first chapter tells the prosperous period of the western fresco and woodcut and the gradually fading out of the mainstream painting circles due to the low efficiency of painting creation.The second chapter is an artistic interpretation of fresco and woodcut from different perspectives.The third chapter is based on the author’s own artistic creation process,including two kinds of painting art creation techniques and practice in the author’s art works.In today’s rich and diverse means of mural painting,the re understanding,repeated practice and deeper exploration of this ancient skill can provide more possibilities for the expression of today’s murals.Starting from the rise,prosperity and development of fresco and woodcut prints,as well as the efficiency problems faced by Western fresco and woodcut prints with the changes of the times,the progress of painting technology and the renewal of painting materials,this paper lists specific cases from four aspects:composition,technique,color and modeling language,Analyze the artistic characteristics of fresco and woodcut printmaking,and find out the combination point and new way out.Through its own creative practice,this paper attempts to integrate the direct expression language of woodcut prints into the creation of frescoes.It can ideally make up for some problems faced by Western frescoes in techniques.It can not only enrich the painting language of Western frescoes,but also better continue the inheritance of Western frescoes,but also broaden the development space of frescoes.Explore the practice and application of wood engraving painting language in fresco creation,hoping to have a new cognition and understanding of this ancient painting method. |
