A Study On Zeng Gong’s Official Documents

“Zeng Gong’s collection” and “Zeng Gong’s chronology” contain a total of 341 official documents of Zeng Gong,showing Zeng Gong’s career from the first day of becoming a Jinshi to his later years as a Chinese scholar,almost covering all kinds of official documents written by Zeng Gong in his life.This paper focuses on text analysis,horizontally combs the main contents of Zeng Gong’s official documents,discusses the structural and linguistic characteristics of Zeng Gong’s official documents,and vertically discusses the impact of Zeng Gong’s official documents on the literati in the Song Dynasty,so as to enrich the academic research in this regard by studying Zeng Gong’s official document writing.The introduction part defines the research background,purpose and significance of this topic,and combs the research status of Zeng Gong’s official documents at home and abroad.On the premise of fully interpreting Zeng Gong’s official documents,the first chapter analyzes the contents of Zeng Gong’s official documents,which are specifically divided into three kinds: the official documents describing the feelings of Yang Wangting and Zhaoming’s heart,the official documents governing the world,governing the country and stabilizing the country,and the official documents of appointing and examining scholars in addition to granting gifts and inspecting scholars.The second chapter discusses the structural characteristics of Zeng Gong’s official documents from two aspects: the strictness and integrity of writing logic and the diversity of writing structure.The third chapter analyzes the language characteristics of Zeng Gong’s official documents,and summarizes the characteristics of his official document language,which is good at reasoning,incisive,refined and elegant,parallel and loose,and “taking style as the opposite”.The fourth chapter discusses the influence of Zeng Gong’s official documents on the official documents of the literati in the Song Dynasty,mainly from three aspects: the continuation of the characteristics of “respecting the classics and Mingdao” and “being useful to the world”,the inheritance of the official documents’ good reasoning and writing method,and the influence of the characteristics of “plain and concise language” and“elegant and graceful”.
