| Intermediate Chinese culture course is an important type of course for teaching Chinese as the second language.Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2019,intermediate Chinese culture courses for international students have been switched to online courses.In the process of teaching,we found that the change in the educational environment has significantly reduced the effectiveness of the culture courses,decreased students’ class participation,decreased their knowledge of Chinese culture,weakened their mastery ability and had a significant impact on their intercultural communication skills.How to effectively enhance the effectively of intermediate Chinese culture online courses,improve students’ cultural awareness and intercultural communication skills is an important issue that intermediate Chinese online culture courses under the COVID-19 epidemic must face and solve.Focusing on the intermediate Chinese online culture course of teaching Chinese as the second language,research contents of the thesis uses Document Analysis,Observation,Case Study,Personal Interview and other methods,based on Social Constructivism theory,Multi-Modal theory and Cross-Cultural Communication theory.This thesis investigated the current situation of intermediate Chinese online culture courses and summarizes the major problems in the teaching process,exploring the causes of these problems.Based on this research,this thesis attempts to apply the "Performance Culture Approach" to the intermediate Chinese online culture course and proposes a specific teaching design.The purpose of this thesis is to effectively improve the efficiency of intermediate Chinese online culture courses and to improve the intercultural communication ability of international students.The thesis mainly includes the following six parts:Chapter 1,"Introduction to Research",briefly summarizes the research object,research content,research purpose,research significance,theoretical basis and research methodology,and provides a brief review of domestic and international research findings related to Performance Culture Approach and intermediate Chinese online culture courses.Chapter 2,"Overview of Performance Culture Approach and Online Teaching for Intermediate Chinese Culture Course",briefly describes the main meaning of the Performance Culture Approach,and outlines the definition,main contents and implementation methods of online teaching for intermediate Chinese culture courses.Chapter 3,"The Current Situation of Online Teaching of Intermediate Chinese Culture Course",is based on a survey of the teaching situation of intermediate Chinese culture courses in foreign countries,to sort out the main problems in the teaching of intermediate Chinese culture courses in China,and to analyze the causes of the problems.Chapter 4,"Research on the Application of Performance Culture Approach in the Online Teaching of Intermediate Chinese Culture Course",discusses the feasibility,principle and specific application of the Performance Culture Approach in teaching Chinese as the second language.Chapter 5,"Online Teaching Design of Intermediate Chinese Cultural Course Based on Performance Culture Approach",combined with personal teaching practice,proposes an online teaching design for an intermediate Chinese cultural course from the perspective of Performance Culture Approach.The last part of the thesis is the "conclusion",which outlines the main conclusions of the thesis,presents the innovative points of the thesis,points out the shortcomings of the thesis and the focus of the subsequent research. |
