Speech act is a key issue in pragmatics and sociolinguistics, among which apology speech acts has been widely concerned by the academic community. The rapid development of online communication in modern society has led to changes in language in the online context, and college students show their own characteristics when they perform apology speech acts in online communication. From both the perspective of language development and network language environment management, this language phenomenon should be paid attention to.This paper takes college students’ online apology speech acts as the research object.Based on the full study of previous results, combining speech act theory, politeness principle and cooperation principle,we use a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, questionnaire survey method and comparative analysis method to carefully examine the strategy types, expressions and influencing factors of college students’ online apology speech acts, and analyze the characteristics of college students’ online apology speech acts itself by comparing it with non-college students’ group performance and non-internet communicative context performance. The main content of this paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction, which briefly explains the reason for choosing this paper, the purpose and significance of the study, the current status of the study, and the theoretical foundation. This paper is based on the real corpus and aims to make a practical and credible analysis,so the sources and composition of the corpus are highlighted. The second part is a study on the types of college students’ online apology speech acts strategies.Based on the corpus, the strategies adopted by college students’ online apology speech acts are carefully categorized, and the occurrence of each type is detailedly counted, presenting a more complete apology strategy system. The third part follows the above to explore the main factors that influence the choice of college students’ online apology speech acts strategies.Based on the previous classification,we used questionnaires to obtain relevant data to analyze the influence of college students’ grade, social distance, social status and gender on their choice of apology strategies. The fourth part examined the types and functions of non-centeredness of college students’ online apology speech acts. The non-centered words of apology speech acts include initiation words and auxiliary words.According to the corpus, the initiation words of college students’ online apology speech acts include address words and discourse connection words, which mainly serve to draw the psychological distance between the two parties and attract the attention of the apologized party. The auxiliary behaviors include euphemisms and emoticons, which mainly serve to compensate for the expression of emotional information and improve the sincerity of apology. The fifth part is the characteristics of college students’ online apology speech acts.By comparing the results of the previous study with the apology speech acts of the parents’ group and the apology speech acts of non-internet communication, the characteristics of college students’ online apology speech acts are summarized:the use of multiple expression strategies, the abundance and high frequency of emoji, the preference and understanding of emoji different from that of their parents, and the variety of Internet phrase.Through the examination and analysis of the real corpus, this study objectively presents the performance of college students’ online apology speech acts;through comparison,it highlights the characteristics brought by their college student groups and online contexts. It is hoped that the findings will further enrich the study of apology speech acts, and provide some reference basis for the college students to carry out online communication and construct a harmonious and civilized online language environment.
