Female ghost drama of Yuan zaju refers to the works of Yuan zaju with female ghost images,including ghost drama and soul drama.The six female ghost dramas of Yuan Dynasty,represented by Qian Nu’s Soul Fleeing with Her Love,can be divided into three categories: Official cases,marriage and love,and religion.The themes of the dramas are mainly to expose the darkness of society,to publicize sincere temperament,to persuade kindness and enlightenment.The female ghost drama of Yuan zaju shows a complex pattern when combining multiple narrative units.The pomp and pageantry of female ghost drama of Yuan zaju is based on the principle of balance and crisscross,and the pomp and pageantry of female ghost images are mostly at home.In terms of female ghost image,from the perspective of form,there are three types:visible ghost,invisible ghost and semi visible and semi hidden ghost.They often fall into a lonely and helpless situation and suffer from the malice imposed by the world.Even if the outcome is reunited,they can not hide their sad mood.The stage shaping method of invisible ghost is to turn the emptiness into reality.In general,the shaping of visible ghost is to take images from people.The female ghost image has two ways of appearance: active appearance and passive appearance.The transformation of human ghost image is mainly manifested as human to ghost and from ghost to human.From the perspective of religious culture,the religious thoughts in the female ghost plays of Yuan zaju are rarely single,but often mixed.The author’s depiction of the netherworld space and the bureaucratic system is not limited to the Buddhist scriptures,but is outlined in bold lines with several well-known nouns according to the specific artistic image and creative needs.Religion and Yuan zaju are closely related.On the one hand,religion strongly interferes with drama creation,and religious spirit permeates all aspects of drama,forming a mutually beneficial and symbiotic relationship between the two;On the other hand,the Secularity of drama deviates from the religious spirit,and drama questions religion.From the perspective of folk culture,the author refers to the folk rumors and imagination about ghosts when shaping the image of ghosts.From the description of various kinds of fear of ghosts,we can see that the Yuan people posted door gods,used peach trees to ward off evil spirits and other exorcism customs,and the disposal of the dead shows the Yuan people’s funeral and sacrifice customs such as sacrifice time,sacrifice form and funeral process.The depiction of folk matters in the female ghost drama of Yuan zaju not only conveys and expresses the feelings and thoughts of the people,but also fully considers the actual situation of the audience and caters to the aesthetic needs of the audience,thus forming a benign interactive relationship among the audience,writers and actors.From the perspective of female,the women in the female ghost plays of Yuan zaju are portrayed and shaped by male writers,which must have the expectations and standards of the patriarchal society for women,but male writers also actively pay attention to the survival and dignity of women.Male writers use the methods of comparing the sexes to realize moral praise and criticism,placing hopes on honest officials to preside over justice,and relying on fantasy to perform retribution on the gods to publicize the female spirit in their works.Although the voice is weak,it is valuable.
