A Linguistic Study Of Place Names In Wuqi,Yan’an

Place names are an important part of language vocabulary.Place names not only have rich language phenomena,but also carry strong cultural information.They can be called a living fossil in human history.Place names are also a part of dialect vocabulary.They have local color in form,sound and meaning.Therefore,it is very necessary and valuable to study place names.This paper takes 2630 place names of 14 towns and townships under the jurisdiction of Wuqi City before its withdrawal and merger in 2014 as the research object.Combined with relevant place name materials,this paper makes a systematic investigation,statistics and analysis of Wuqi place names,and tries to show the full picture of Wuqi place names as comprehensively as possible from the three aspects of pronunciation,vocabulary and words.The article is mainly divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.This paper introduces the general situation of Wuqi County,research status,topic selection source,significance and research methods,research object and corpus source,pronunciation partner information,etc.The second chapter is the research on the phonetics of place names in Wuqi.This paper summarizes the diachronic phonetic change law of Wuqi place names from three aspects of sound,rhyme and tone,which reflects the antiquity and stability of place names;A detailed analysis of the synchronic sound changes of Wuqi place names.The third chapter is the study of Wuqi place name vocabulary.Make statistics and analyze the use of common names in Wuqi place names,divide the common names of Wuqi place names into two categories: natural geographical entities and human geographical entities,and explain that the distribution of common names has a great relationship with topography,hydrology and settlements.On this basis,analyze the characteristic common names such as “ditch,beam,hill,cliff and Huochang” in Wuqi place names;Make statistics and analyze the use of proper names in Wuqi place names,and divide the proper names into four categories: location words,adjectives,numerals and nouns.On this basis,it also analyzes the special names in Wuqi place names,such as “black thorn,long insect and ground pepper”;Then,from the perspective of word meaning,this paper analyzes the word meaning of “Lao,dun,snake and mouse” in Wuqi place names,and finds out the difference between word meaning and Putonghua or other dialects;Finally,it briefly analyzes and explains the minority Special word formation in the place names of Wuqi,such as “liutu” and“amaranth”.The fourth chapter is the research on the words of place names in Wuqi.Firstly,it introduces the different writing in place names;Secondly,explain the existing rare words in place names;Finally,the phenomenon of changing words according to sound in place names is analyzed.
