A Report On The E-C Translation Of 2019 Marine Corps Aviation Plan(Excerpts) From The Perspective Of Experiential Function

With the development of China’s national defense,military English translation is showing its importance.Based on the 2019 Marine Corps Aviation Plan,this report gives a detailed description of the translation task,selects the experiential function as the theoretical guidance to analyze and study various conversion phenomena from the perspective of transitivity system and voice system in the process of translation.Through the analysis,this report finds that the English-to-Chinese translation techniques mainly involve four kinds of transitivity conversion and five kinds of voice conversion.The transitivity process conversion mainly includes:material process to relational process,mental process to material process,relational process to material process,existential process to material process.Through the conversion,the state of language also changes,and the translation is more in line with the characteristics of Chinese.The voice conversion mainly includes:passive voice to active voice,active voice to passive voice,middle voice to active voice,and two kinds of zero conversion.Through the conversion,the sequence of participants and actions is established,which makes the translation obtain the clear logic and easier for readers to understand.However,it is still a long way to go for the translation of military English.It is hoped that this report can provide some references for the application of experiential function in military English translation in the future.
