| After the outbreak of the COVID-19 in January 2020,the party and the government led the people to unite to fight the virus,make strict arrangements,implement precise policies,and create countless miracles.These were recorded in a vivid,humorous,ironic,and shocking way by news comics.As an important form of news communication,the visual expression of news comics is beyond the reach of words and photos,so the author takes it as the research object of this article,Using the analysis model of visual framework,this paper studies the following problems:first,what kind of visual framework does the anti epidemic news cartoon choose and present;The second is what the internal and external mechanisms of these visual frameworks are.The third is to analyze the deep cultural connotation and power logic of these visual frameworks.These three issues are closely linked.The word "framework" was first put forward by Goffman.It is a set of relatively stable psychological structure formed by artificial construction and organization to understand things,which helps people identify,perceive,confirm and name infinite facts in the external world full of complex information.Our perception of the external world mainly depends on"framework".After Goffman put forward the "framework" theory,it was introduced and became an important theory of Journalism and communication,However,as visual images invade the world,the traditional framework theory and model can no longer meet the current research,it is facing a profound turn,and the research of visual framework is imminent.Therefore,according to the problem,the author follows five steps.The first step is to choose the form of visual text,selecting 1832 anti epidemic news comics from China News comics network since January 1,2020.The second step is to construct coding categories,and encode them into visual rhetorical framework,thematic visual framework,and conceptual metaphorical visual framework according to the unique image of news comics.The third step is to identify the visual frameworks used,reproduced and created by the anti epidemic news cartoons.Through the research,it is found that the visual rhetoric framework includes six types:visual personification,allusion,contrast,irony,metaphor and exaggeration.The thematic visual framework includes eight types:anti virus,health communication,emotional story,victory message,anti game,hero model,unity of purpose and international anti epidemic,There are also conceptual metaphorical visual frameworks,including chess and card games,fairy tales and myths,war,film novels and painting music.The fourth step is to explore the internal and external mechanisms of the generation of visual framework.There are three external mechanisms:the risk society under the epidemic calls on the news media to play six functions and assume five responsibilities,while journalistic professionalism and professional ethics,four social ethics and five media ethics all affect the generation of visual framework.The internal mechanism mainly includes the grammatical principle of the reproduction and composition of news comics,the rhetorical principle of content identification and appeal to rationality,emotion and personality,and the symbolic principle of iconicity,instruction and convention.Fifth,this paper studies the construction of its visual discourse and the deep rhetorical mechanism from the invention and competition of the concept of meaning,the context theory on which symbolic meaning depends,the metaphor of cross domain mapping,cultural codes and archetypes,and the production and reconstruction of the discourse framework under the connection.The author tries to explore a new perspective of news cartoon research and a new model of visual framework research in an innovative way,so as to provide more references for the visual turn of framework theory and the mature development of visual framework model,and provide more reliable suggestions for the news practice report of fighting against the epidemic. |
