Body language,as an important auxiliary means of International Chinese Teaching,often appears in teaching activities.The effective use of body language in class can stimulate students’ interest,mobilize students’ enthusiasm,create a good classroom atmosphere,and play an active role to keep a lesson alive and assist teaching.However,current studies mainly focus on the application of body language in International Offline Chinese Teaching,and few have explored the theoretical value and practical significance of the application of body language in International Chinese Online Teaching.Therefore,the research on body language is not comprehensive enough,and it is urgent to carry out the research on the application of body language in International Chinese Online Teaching.On the basis of the relevant theories of body language and its own teaching practice,this study adopts the method of observation and case-study to investigate the actual situation of the application of body language by International Chinese Teacher in the online teaching of Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course according to the relevant elements of the online teaching of Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course.Through interviews with International Chinese Teacher,the cognition degree and concern degree of body language were deeply understood.Meanwhile,a questionnaire was conducted among the students to understand their acceptance degree and recognition degree of International Chinese Teacher’use of body language.With the support of relevant theories,this study analyzes the effects and existing problems of teachers’ body language in online teaching of Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course through the information of case analysis,interview and questionnaire.Body language plays an active and significant role in online teaching of Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course.However,in actual teaching,International Chinese Teacher are limited by various factors such as network,time,environment and themselves,and do not pay enough attention to the effectiveness and feedback information of body language,as well as lack of certain skills in using body language.In addition,students do not pay enough attention to Chinese learning and their learning strategies are not perfect enough.The interaction between teachers and students is not strong.Teaching platform compatibility and functionality are not high,and platform function and service system is not perfect.Therefore,International Chinese Teacher should standardize the use of body language,guide students to improve learning strategies,stimulate students’ interest in learning,enrich online teaching activities,improve the interaction ability of teachers and students,and draw the distance between teachers and students.At the same time,we should pay attention to the development and construction of the teaching platform,strengthen the application of the platform,and optimize the platform function service system.Body language plays an increasingly important role in cross-cultural communication due to its powerful auxiliary function,especially International Chinese Teacher often use body language to conduct language and culture teaching in International Chinese Online Teaching.The use of body language can not only make International Chinese Teacher carry out teaching activities,spread Chinese culture and complete teaching tasks,but also improve students’ enthusiasm for learning Chinese and deepen their understanding of what they have learned.The research on the application of body language in online teaching of Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course has positive practical significance and can provide useful reference for International Chinese Online Teaching.
