The Application Of Flattening Language In The Creation Of Oil Paintings

The flattening language of oil painting is an important characteristics of modern painting,which has its unique artistic charm.Compared with realistic painting,in modern and contemporary paintings,we can find flattening characteristics to some degree.The flattening language breaks through the shackles of imitating nature in traditional oil painting in the west,which is popular with the contemporary artists.The expression of flattening language helps creators to express their emotions more subjectively,meanwhile catering to the audience’s aesthetic taste.At present,The flattening language has a lot of room for growth and is worth further exploring and studying.This paper mainly studies the flattening language of oil painting using examples,focusing on the the expression of flattening language such as space,shape and color in the pictures,combining theory and practice,making the rough sketch to dim the contour line with a scraping knife,thus forming the indistinct visual image.
