Unreliable Narrative Research Of Puzzle Films

As an emerging film genre since 1990,puzzle film has been loved by fans at home and abroad.Foreign filmmakers and scholars have conducted a lot of research on it,while domestic scholars have paid attention to puzzle film,but the research results are not rich.The main research content related to this focuses on the establishment of this kind of film as a genre,the theme research of puzzle film,narrative phenomenon and so on,and there are few research results on the unreliable narrative of puzzle film.This paper is mainly rooted in the phenomenon of unreliable narration in puzzle films,the causes of this phenomenon,text effects and other aspects of in-depth research,in order to add to the study of puzzle films.Puzzle movies are different from classic movies: they often play an intellectual game with the audience.Traditional the narrator of almighty god always exist in the movie,the audience to believe the story,whereas in mystery movie absolutely cannot swallow the narrator,the film information diversity,information intensive heavy and complicated,requires the audience to distinguish what is true,what is false,let the audience as a link in films convey meaning to participate in the construction.This paper takes puzzle films as the research object,introduces unreliable narrative theory,and analyzes the phenomenon of unreliable narrative in puzzle films.Unreliable narration,as one of the techniques used by master cinematographers to arrange films,mainly operates at two levels,that is,story and telling behavior.In addition,this paper also makes a textual study of the plot of puzzle movies,categorizes many situations of unreliable narration,and analyzes the textual effects of various situations on this basis.Finally,this paper will elaborate on the fan effect of puzzle movies caused by unreliable narration,and analyze the characteristics of the popularity of puzzle film from the perspectives of unintellgibility,interactivity and playfulness.There are great differences between puzzle films at home and abroad.This paper hopes that Chinese film practitioners can absorb the essence of foreign puzzle films and combine national psychology and regional characteristics to shoot puzzle films rooted in Chinese local characteristics,so as to promote the diversified development of Chinese film genres.
