As is known to all,adequate sleep is very important to people’s health.However,more and more people habitually postpone their scheduled sleep time without any external factors.This behavior was defined as "Bedtime Procrastination" by Dutch scholar Kroese et al.For IT technical employees,their sleep problems are more serious.In recent years,with the vigorous development of the Internet industry and the upgrading of IT technology,the "996" working system has become the new working norm of IT technical employees.Many studies have shown that after a day’s hard work,enterprise employees in a high-pressure environment actively postpone sleep after work in order to obtain a sense of autonomy,relaxation and other positive emotions of free time and relieve negative emotions during the day.It has not been concluded whether IT technical employees who work overtime with high intensity will take the initiative to bedtime procrastination due to these internal reasons after work.Therefore,it is necessary to study the status quo and intervention methods of bedtime procrastination in this group.Mindfulness advocates that individuals should be keenly aware of their current emotions,behaviors and thoughts,and that individuals should use the third person perspective to find their own thoughts and change,open their mind and vision,face up to their own negative emotions such as tension and depression,and effectively promote their healthy behaviors.In conclusion,based on the Self-Regulation Resource Model(SRRM)of health-promoting behavior,the mindfulness emotion regulation model and related research,this study constructed a mediation model of trait mindfulness,negative emotion and bedtime procrastination.Specifically,this study aimed to investigate the influence of IT technical employees’ trait mindfulness on bedtime procrastination,and the mediating role of negative emotions in it.It also took IT technical employees as the research object to design and implement mindfulness intervention.Research methods: In Study 1,523 IT technical employees were investigated with Mindfulness Attention Awareness Scale,Positive And Negative Emotion Scale and Bedtime Procrastination Scale,and the relationship between the three variables was analyzed.In Study2,on the basis of study 1,60 subjects with higher than average levels of negative emotion and bedtime procrastination were screened and randomly divided into experimental group(30)and control group(30).The members of the experimental group received mindfulness intervention training for 8 weeks,and the control group received light tone relaxation training for 8 weeks.After the intervention,the changes of negative emotion and bedtime procrastination of IT technical employees was evaluated by a questionnaire survey.The results showed that:(1)The trait mindfulness levels of IT technical employees negatively predicted negative emotions(β=-0.44,p<0.001)and bedtime procrastination(β=-0.30,p<0.01),negative emotion positively predicted bedtime procrastination(β=0.40,p<0.001).(2)Negative emotion mediated between mindfulness level and bedtime procrastination(t=9.68,p<0.001).The proportion of mediating effect and direct effect was 37.5% and 62.5%respectively.(3)8-week mindfulness intervention effectively alleviated the negative emotion of employees in the experimental group(t=18.69,p<0.05)and reduced their bedtime procrastination(t=17.94,p<0.05),and the effect can be still significant after two months.This paper concluded that the higher the level of trait mindfulness,the lower the possibility of IT technical employees to experience negative emotions and bedtime procrastination.The trait mindfulness level of IT technical employees can partially affect bedtime procrastination through negative emotions;8-week mindfulness intervention can effectively reduce bedtime procrastination,and has good continuous tracking effect,which can be used as a method to reduce bedtime procrastination of IT technical employees.
