| The text of this translation practice report is selected from Society in the Digital Age: An Interactionist Perspective(Chapters1-2).As a sociological text,it introduces digital societies and some of the social implications of algorithms,platform architecture,social media,big data and automation for digitally networked everyday life and social activity.There are a lot of fuzzy languages and professional terms related to sociology in the field of information technology and communication.Moreover,there are many passive structures.According to the main content and language characteristics above,the practice report analyzes the translation from three perspectives,namely,the translation of fuzzy languages,passive sentences,and discourse cohesion,and combines with specific cases.In terms of fuzzy languages,the translator adopts the context analysis method,the retention of fuzzy meaning and omission.The translation of passive voice can be divided into active sentence and passive sentence translated into Chinese.To solve the problems of semantic ambiguity and improper logical cohesion,the translator adopts the methods of amplification,omission,repetition and reverse.This translation practice is helpful to improve the quality of translation and provide reference for sociological translation. |
