| The text of this translation practice report is taken from Chapter 4,“Theory and Practice,” of Contemporary Approaches to Children’s Behavioral Problems and Mental Health in the Classroom,by educator Emma Clark.Based on the latest research in the field of basic education, the text combines theory and practice and proposes a range of teaching strategies and methods that can be used by schools and teachers to ensure the mental health of children. For the vocabulary that cannot be directly translated in the text, the translator chooses three methods: contextual analysis, word addition and word reduction. For the passive voice that is abundant in the text,it is rendered into active and passive sentences in Chinese. The explicitation and implicitness at the discourse level are also applied during the translation. This practice aims to provide research materials for the field of basic education in China, and to provide theoretical supplements and methodological guidance for basic educators in China. |
