The text of this report comes from Chapters 4(The Power of the Image)and 5(New Instruments and New Directions)of Not Yet Imagined: A Study of Hubble Space Telescope Operations,which mainly introduces the operation of the telescope after its restoration and several upgrade missions for the telescope equipment.The purpose of this report is to explore the translation methods of space exploration texts from the aspects of vocabulary,sentence and rhetoric through case analysis.Translation of abbreviations and semi-technical vocabularies are discussed to determine the meaning of words in combination with context and subject background;at the syntax level,attention should be paid to the translation of voice and compound sentences;at the rhetoric level,it is necessary to take language differences into consideration,literal translation and free translation can be used according to situations.The report is expected to provide reference for the translation of texts with similar subjects.
