As a typical youth subcultural group,rock fans’ practices and identities in online communities are worth exploring.This paper takes the rock music fan community as the research object,uses participant observation and in-depth interviews from the disciplinary perspective of communication and sociology,and uses the Douban group as an example to analyse how rock music fans construct their identity in the online community,to explore how the identity of rock music fans changes in the online environment,and to reflect on the problems revealed by the fans in the process,and to provide targeted suggestions.There are four chapters in this paper.The first chapter defines the rock fan community and briefly analyses the reasons for its formation.By exploring the advantages of the participation of online communities in the construction of rock fans’ identities,it lays the premise and foundation for the subsequent identity research.In the second chapter,we analyse three representative Douban groups from the perspectives of self-identity and group identity and combine them with interviews to illustrate the complete process of identity construction among rock fans in online communities.Finally,suggestions are made to address the main problems exposed by the rock fan community.
