| For the translation report,the source text is Chapter 3 “Solutions” from academic monograph The Distributed University for Sustainable Higher Education.It mainly tells about the author’s suggestions for higher education.Nida’s functional equivalence theory serves as the guiding theory for the whole translation process.The case analyses are carried out from 4 levels according to the features of the original text--the translation of“suggest”,different types of titles,restrictive attributive clauses and ironic sentences’ translation with demonstrating in detail the whole process of translation and review at all levels.The translation of “suggest” focuses on appropriate meanings.According to the function of the clauses and the meaning of the sentences,the translation of restrictive attributive clauses can be divided into division,adverbial-translation and combination.The translation of ironic sentences includes literal translation and literal translation with annotation according to the ironic types.Titles are translated according to different types as well.The report aims to explore the translation of higher education under the guidance of functional equivalence theory,hoping to provide new thinking for the translation of similar texts in the future. |
