| Myth is an important source of ancient Chinese literature, which has different degrees of influence on the literary creation of later generations, and Tang poetry is no exception. The phenomenon of taking a large number of myths from it also reflects the acceptance of myths by poets in the Tang Dynasty from one side.As a poet of the Middle Tang Dynasty who is famous for his fantastic imagination,Li He used myths in 87 of his more than 240 poems handed down, more than a quarter of the total number of poems, which shows his preference for myths. This phenomenon has also attracted the attention of academic research, but the discussion is relatively scattered, and there is no systematic and concentrated in-depth discussion on this issue.Based on this situation, this paper attempts to discuss Li He’s acceptance of myths and legends from three aspects:the category of poets’ use of myths, the artistic characteristics of the use of myths, and the mythical thinking in the process of creation. The introduction includes the current research status of the myth and legend in Li He’s poetry and the definition method of the myth concept adopted in this paper. The main part consists of three chapters:The first chapter, based on the comprehensive arrangement of the mythological materials in Li He’s poems, analyzes the use of myths from both geographical and thematic aspects.Among them, the region mainly includes the South Chu myth, the East Penglai myth and the West Kunlun myth, while the theme mainly includes the natural god myth, the moon myth, the immortality myth and the sword hero myth.By summarizing the use and purpose of these types of myths,we can explore the poet’s specific intention of expression. The second chapter discusses the methods and artistic characteristics of Li He’s use of myths and legends in his poems, which can be summarized into four characteristics:one is to avoid Chen Yan and not use too common words; The second is to seek novelty in the collocation and combination of images;Third, focus on sensory shaping; The fourth is to secularize the fairyland and characters in the myth. The third chapter explores Li He’s mythical thinking characteristics in the process of creation from the perspective of thinking, that is,mutual infiltration and intuitive thinking. On this basis,it further explores the relationship between the mythical thinking mode and the generation of Li He Qi’s quirky poetic style, and also discusses the source of Li He’s creative experience as the support of thinking activities. In general,Li He has his own characteristics when using myths. He has personalized the myths in his poems with his own unique aesthetic vision. In this process, the characteristics of myths and Li He’s artistic style have gradually merged, and it is difficult to completely separate.Myths have stimulated the imagination of poets, and the transformation of poets has injected new vitality into the ancient myths. |
