| In the context of postmodernism, identity,as a dynamic and changeable form of language expression, has attracted wide attention from scholars.Pragmatic identity is a kind of pragmatic resource used by both parties in social communication. This paper selects the reports of the Beijing Winter Olympics from the mainstream media on Sina Weibo as the corpus, uses Chen Xinren’s theory of pragmatic identity to divide the pragmatic identities in the microblog news discourse of the Winter Olympics, interprets the discourse strategies for constructing different pragmatic identities, and interprets the pragmatic functions implemented by different pragmatic identities through speech acts. The research shows that: Firstly, the microblog news discourse of the Beijing Winter Olympics has constructed three pragmatic identities, namely, writer(including four sub-identities: race announcer, public opinion leader, value transmitter and atmosphere regulator),image-maker and literary and creative promoter.Secondly, these three different pragmatic identities are constructed from two dimensions of propositional content and pragma-linguistic.Finally,the three pragmatic identities of the microblog news discourse construction of the Beijing Winter Olympics carry out two corresponding pragmatic functions, which are respectively manifested as the contributing function of contributors and creative promoters, and the interpersonal function of contributors and image-makers.In conclusion, this paper studies identity construction from a pragmatic perspective. On the one hand,it demonstrates the applicability of pragmatic identity theory in microblog news discourses and broadens the scope of research on identity issues. On the other hand,it improves people’s awareness of pragmatic identity in the process of language communication,so as to promote the realization of communicative purposes. |
