| Learning motivation is a key factor influencing learner persistence and effectiveness in learning.Compared with adult Chinese learners,adolescent Chinese learners have significantly insufficient learning motivation.This paper supports the "ARCS motivation model" proposed by Professor Keller and combines it with the primary Chinese comprehensive course.Firstly,this paper introduces the connotation of ARCS motivation model,and then analyzes the feasibility of this model in the comprehensive course of junior Chinese language.Secondly,the students’ motivation for Chinese learning is analyzed through the questionnaire survey,so as to clarify the excitation points of the motivation and improve the teaching methods.The teaching design of primary Chinese is conducted around the four elements of ARCS motivation model.Finally,after four months of teaching practice,the changes in the learning motivation of learners were analyzed through interviews from the feedback from students and teachers.Practice has proved that the application of ARCS motivation mode has a significant effect on enhancing learners ’learning motivation and improving learners’ learning enthusiasm.It is hoped that this study can provide some reference for overseas Chinese teachers to stimulate students’ learning motivation. |
