| Heroic "Hun Ren" figures,such as Zhang Fei in Romance of The Three Kingdoms,Li Kui in All Men Are Brothers,Cheng Niaojin in Romance of Heroes in the Early Tang Dynasty,are an important class of characters in ancient Chinese novels,and can not be ignored in the study of ancient Chinese novels.This paper aims to sort out and analyze the evolution and development of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in ancient Chinese novels from the perspective of diachronic.The thesis includes three parts:exordium,the study of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in novels written before Ming dynasty and the study of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in novels of Ming and Qing dynasties.In the exordium,firstly,the concept of "Hun Ren" and heroic "Hun Ren" is clearly defined,so as to determine the research object of this paper.Secondly,the purpose and method of this paper are expounded.Finally,it introduces and analyzes the research status of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in ancient Chinese novels.There are four subsections in Part Ⅰ: The first subsection mainly analyzes the germination of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in ancient myths,such as Xing Tian and Gong Gong,which had the character of "single-minded" and brave.The second subsection discusses the original characteristics of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in the novels from the Spring and Autumn Period to Wei and Jin dynasties,including the complete plots and the re-creation of the story about heroic "Hun Ren".The third section analyzes the development the heroic image of "Hun Ren" in the Tang legend: on the one hand,the character image has shifted from realism to fiction;On the other hand,the "Hun Ren" has three new characteristics: clear appearance,heroic charm of words and deeds,and rough and fine character.The fourth subsection explains that under the influence of populist aesthetics,the heroic "Hun Ren" image in the Song and Yuan dynasties achieved the stereotyping of heroic "Hun Ren" image in ancient Chinese novels from five aspects: rough appearance,brave aura,reckless and ruthless temperament,scheming and righteous personality,and simple and comedy temperament.There are four subsections in Part Ⅱ discuss the reasons and manifestations of the prosperity of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in the novels of Ming and Qing dynasties.The first section not only analyzes the transformation of the heroic "Hun Ren" image from protagonist to supporting role from two aspects of traditional hero concept and psychological demands,but also discusses the reasons why the heroic "Hun Ren" image matured in Ming and Qing Dynasties from two aspects of the influence of the zeitgeist and the penetration of classical opera art.The second section explains the plumpness of the heroic "Hun Ren" image from four aspects: the wild appearance,the rebellious and father-seeking psychology,the character full of "truth" and the prominence of the instinctual behavior of gluting,drinking,violence and killing.The third section is a personalized analysis of the heroic "Hun Ren" image in the Ming and Qing dynasties,such as Zhang Fei,Li Kui and Niu Gao.The forth section summarizes the aesthetic value of the heroic "Hun Ren" image,including imperfections,comical beauty and life beauty.In general,the heroic "Hun Ren" image in ancient Chinese novels presents a trend of typification,popularization and entertainment orientation in its development process. |
