An instinctive feel for language is the core element of language ability,which is the accumulated and transferred by all knowledge,ability and experience in the process of long-term learning and practice.The instinctive feel for Chinese reflects the knowledge literacy and levels of ability of Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers Other Languages(MTCSOL).As the main storage of the international Chinese teaching team,the improvement of the level of instinctive feel for Chinese of MTCSOL will promote the international Chinese language education in terms of the quality of talent training.This paper is conducted through questionnaires and personal interviews,taking76MTCSOL graduates at the school of Beijing Foreign University as subjects,to see the overall level of the instinctive feel for Chinese.Through investigation and analysis,from the perspective of personal factors and social factors,the research focuses on the level of the instinctive feel for Chinese and influential factors of MTCSOLThe results show that:1.graduate students majoring in MTCSOL have a good level of The instinctive feel for Chinese;2.Long-term reading and writing have a significant contribution to the instinctive feel for Chinese;3.The experience of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the level of the instinctive feel for Chinese promote each other;4.The negative transfer of foreign language interferes the instinctive feel for Chinese;5.The dialect background interferes with the instinctive feel for Chinese;6.A good instinctive feel for Chinese contributes to pass the status quo of Chinese volunteer teachers selection.The results have some implications:1.In a bid to improve the instinctive feel for Chinese,graduate students should pay attention to improving their reading and writing skills;2.Universities should provide,including graduate students should find,more and better opportunities for international Chinese teaching;3.Universities should pay attention to improving the theoretical accomplishment of students’ professional knowledge,and cultivate comparative sense between Chinese and foreign language;4.Graduate students should have strong foundation of basic linguistic knowledge and an in-depth understanding about language universal properties and Chinese specific;5.Graduate students should know more about the characteristics of their own dialects and reduce the interference of dialects on the instinctive feel for Chinese.
