| The opera Julius Caesar is a classic opera work composed by the English-German composer Handel in the early 18 th century during the Baroque period,and has been well received by audiences for a hundred years.While the baritone voice had not yet formed a clear concept at the early stage of opera’s birth,some characters appearing in the operas of Handel and his contemporaries during this period were extremely compatible with baritone characteristics,and in the operas of the late Baroque period,the baritone voice had actually taken shape.The two baritone vocal roles in the opera of Julius Caesar,a representative operatic work of Handel,are important references for the study of the development of the early form of the baritone and the practice of baritone singing within the field of Baroque opera.This study consists of three chapters: Chapter 1 gives a brief overview of the background of the topic "early opera" and the development of the baritone voice in early opera;Chapter 2takes the baritone role in the opera Julius Caesar as the object of study and analyzes the artistic expression of the baritone in opera in the 18 th century;Chapter 3 combines the author’s own study In the third chapter,the author analyzes the singing practice of the baritone role in opera,and finally proposes effective ways for the baritone to interpret early operatic works,in the hope that it will be useful for singers. |
