The Research Of Li Yingfen And His Poetry

Li Yingfen(1810-1862),styled Xiangxue,was born in Yibin,Sichuan Province.He was an outstanding official and poet in the late Qing Dynasty.He kept close contact with political figures such as Hu Linyi and Yan Shusen,and exchanged poetry with such figures as Shan Shan,Cheng Zhizhen and Ding Suzhang.He was active in Hubei politics and poetry circles.The number of poems,1,414 in total,mostly written during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement,was full of tears and sadness.Based on previous studies,this paper intends to conduct a systematic study of Li Yingfen and his poems.With the "Shi Qin Poetry Note" as the main data,this paper adopts the text reading method to analyze his family background,his life and career,friends,poetry theme and artistic features.First,this paper researches the family origin of Li Yingfen,traces his life and career,and inspects the retention of his works.Secondly,it sorts out their social intercourse,divides the intercourse objects into students,the same year and colleagues,and discusses the influence of extensive social intercourse on their personality and poetry creation.Thirdly,this paper discusses the poetic and historical character of Li Yingfen’s poems,and discusses the situation of his poetry creation.According to the content of the poems,they can be divided into landscape poetry,historical poetry,painting poetry,love poetry and so on.Finally,combining with the specific poems,the artistic characteristics of the poems are discussed from the perspectives of poetry style,poetry style,technique and narrative.At the end of the Qing Dynasty,the Qing army was corrupt and incompetent,and the poets had no attachment and were in a loss.They only poured their anger into their poems,which went against the "gentle and sincere" concept of poetry teaching,but they used poems to replace tears.Li Yingfen consciously used poetry to record daily life and used it as a "diary",expanding the theme of poetry.Record travel life,write a lot of landscape poems;Visit historic sites,write a rich poetry;Satirize the Qing Army,criticize the Taiping Army,expose the social reality,with a strong spirit of realism.Therefore,the greatest features of his poetry are recording and criticism.However,no matter what the subject matter,the thought of home and country is always the theme of his poetry.
