With the development of modern teaching technology and the expansion of international exchange,international Chinese teaching should also keep pace with the times,use relevant technology and equipment innovatively and promote international Chinese teaching.The multi-modal theory attaches importance to the human sense organs,and applies multi-modal to the International Chinese teaching,students’ multi-sensory coordination is conducive to deepening the knowledge of cognition,understanding and memory,and then learn to read by analogy.Language teaching should focus on the development of students’ language skills,which can be divided into four types:listening,speaking,reading and writing.Understanding is the premise,say is output,release,write is more advanced output,read is listening,speaking to write the transition stage,is the active input,but also“Write”preparation stage.“Reading” is mainly for reading classes.“International Chinese education Chinese level level standard” is the Chinese language level of learners from low to high score“Three nine levels”,from the elementary,intermediate and advanced dimensions of each level of“Reading” vocabulary,problems and speed of reading,are divided.This study first examines the current state of the teaching of International Chinese reading at Confucius College of the Lao National University,from the perspectives of both learners and instructors,to investigate the current situation of mode use,mode preference and mode satisfaction of Chinese learners in the teaching of International Chinese reading course at Confucius College of Lao National University,this paper applies the multimodal theory to the teaching design and practice of the International Chinese reading course.The author adopts the methods of Literature Research,questionnaire survey,classroom observation and practice,based on the multimodal theory,supplemented by metacognitive strategies,and on the basis of studying the connotation and application of multimodal theory,this paper investigates the current situation of the teaching of international Chinese reading at Confucius College of the Lao National University,and combines the multi-modal theory teaching design with the existing problems.The main body of the paper includes five parts.Chapter one focuses on the current situation of the International Chinese Reading Course at Confucius College,Lao National University,and chapter two focuses on the feasibility of applying multi-modal theory to the teaching of international Chinese reading course The third chapter is to use the multi-mode theory to carry on the overall teaching design to the International Chinese reading class teaching;The fifth chapter is mainly about the multi-modal theory applied in the International Chinese reading course teaching design thinking and suggestions.
