A Report On The C-E Translation Of Walking Out Of Heiyanwan Village(Excerpts) Under The Guidance Of Eco-Translatology

With the rapid development of China’s economy,the lives of Chinese people have undergone amazing changes.As a kind of documentary literature,reportage records the development and changes of the times we live in,but at present English translation of Chinese reportage still has a long way to go.Therefore,this report intends to take the Eco-translatology proposed by Hu Gengshen as a theoretical guide,and take the English translation of Walking Out of Heiyanwan Village as a case study to explore how to achieve "adaptive selection" from three perspectives:linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension,so as to achieve a highly holistic translation.This thesis consists of five parts.The first part introduces the specific content of this practice,including the background information of the translation and the significance of the translation practice.The second part describes the translation process,including the stages of preparation,translating,and proofreading and reflection.The third part reviews the literature concerning the development and application of Eco-translatology which is adopted as the theoretical guidance in this practice report.The following part analyzes the specific difficulties encountered in translation and the C-E translation strategies employed by translators under the guidance of Eco-translatology.The last part summarizes the translation practice and draws the following conclusion:translators’ subjectivity is critical for the quality of translation.Besides,the three dimensions of Eco-translatology are interdependent,and any good translation is the result of translators’ active adaptation and transformation in linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions.
