Currently,there is a trend of younger Chinese language learners overseas,and the existing international Chinese teaching system cannot meet the needs of children learning Chinese.With the development of online teaching,many teachers have pointed out issues such as insufficient interaction between teachers and students,limited variety in classroom activities,and unsatisfactory outcomes in online teaching.Word teaching is the foundation of Chinese language learning,but for foreign children,the teaching effectiveness of word writing and structure in online classes is not ideal.Therefore,this study combines online games with word teaching to address the problems encountered in word teaching.This research aims to assist teachers in better designing and applying online word games to enhance the interest,interactivity,and learning outcomes of foreign children in online Chinese learning.Based on the theory of game-based teaching,this study selected 50 foreign children from the e Chinese Learning online school as the main research subjects.The study conducted interviews to investigate the application and satisfaction of foreign children in online word games.A survey was conducted using an inquiry method to gather information from 140 online Chinese teachers regarding the application and production of online word games.A questionnaire survey was conducted from the perspective of parents to assess the satisfaction with the application of online word games for 50 foreign children.Through classroom observations and comparative studies,the study compared the actual application of online word games by teachers and students before and after the intervention,observing the real situation during their application.The study found that the use of online word games can increase interaction between teachers and students,enhance classroom activities,and improve teachers’ monitoring of students’ word writing,thus enhancing the interest and effectiveness of word teaching.The research identified that the most significant reason affecting teachers’ application of online word games is the difficulty in creating them.Foreign children expressed the least satisfaction with the quantity of available games,which did not meet their needs.To address the problems encountered in the design and application of online word games,this study proposes corresponding design and application strategies to assist teachers in better designing and applying online word games for foreign children in online teaching.
