| There is a practical and theoretical basis to explore the current situation of primary school students’ language competence training in the English dialogue teaching of primary school.First of all,with the continuous reform and development of English education in China,language competence has become more and more prominent in its status and role in students’ English learning process and growth,and has become a basic part of the core literacy of English subjects.In addition,China’s “English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011Edition)”(Hereinafter referred to as “English Standard”)pointed out that one of the functions of English courses is to help students improve mutual communication and understanding with young people from all over the world,and cultivate talents with cross-cultural communication skills for the society.The English course has the characteristics of gradualness and continuity.In order to cultivate cross-cultural communication talents,it is necessary to pay attention to the cultivation of students’ language competence from primary school.In addition to the above-mentioned practical needs of English education and student development,Freire’s dialogue teaching theory and Krashen’s second language acquisition theory are also important theoretical foundations of this thesis.Freire’s dialogue teaching theory emphasizes that education is achieved through dialogue between teachers and students,and the prerequisite for dialogue teaching to be carried out smoothly is based on equality,love and humility between teachers and students.Krashen’s second language acquisition theory advocates that language input should be both interesting and closely related to students’ life experiences,so as to stimulate students’ intrinsic motivation to learn English and encourage them to actively improve their language competence.However,the cultivation of language competence is not ideal in the actual English dialogue teaching in primary school.Therefore,it has practical value and theoretical significance to explore the situation of language ability cultivation in the English dialogue teaching of primary school.The research questions of the thesis are as follows:1.What is the current situation of primary school English teachers’ language literacy?2.What is the current status of language proficiency training in English dialogue teaching of primary school?3.What are the countermeasures to solve the problems existing in the cultivation of language competence in English dialogue teaching of primary school?Around these research questions,the thesis consists of six parts as follows:The first part is the introduction,including the background of the topic selection,the research purpose,and the theoretical and practical significance of this research.The second part is a literature review,including the sorting and summarization of relevant literature on “dialogue teaching” and “English language ability” at home and abroad.The third part is the core concept definition and theoretical basis,including the explanation of the two core concepts of “dialogue teaching” and “English language competence”,as well as the relevant elaboration of Freire’s dialogue teaching theory and Krashen’s second language acquisition theory.The fourth part is the survey design and result analysis of language competence training in English dialogue teaching of primary school,including survey purpose,survey object,survey content and survey method,as well as the collation and analysis of survey data.The fifth part is the analysis of the current situation and countermeasures of language competence training in English dialogue teaching of primary schools.The part is mainly to analyze the existing problems and their causes.The sixth part is the conclusion,including research conclusions,research deficiencies and research prospects.After investigation and analysis,the thesis draws the following conclusions:1.The language literacy of primary school English teachers is worrying and needs to be further improved.2.At present,there are still some urgent problems to be solved in the cultivation of language competence in English dialogue teaching in primary school,such as: language teaching is difficult for students,language skills are mechanically practiced,the quality of language interaction is poor,and teacher-student dialogue lacks depth.The root cause is that teachers’ professional level needs to be improved,teachers’ language competence poor,students’ enthusiasm for English learning is low,and teachers and students lack the spirit of dialogue.3.The countermeasures to solve the problems existing in the cultivation of language competence in English dialogue teaching in primary school are as follows:(1)strengthen professional learning and improve language literacy;(2)skillfully teach language knowledge based on topic context;(3)enrich classroom activities and develop language skills;(4)enhance communication awareness and improve language interaction;(5)cultivate the spirit of dialogue and move towards in-depth dialogue. hoping that through this investigation and research,it can provide useful theoretical references for the majority of first-line primary school English teachers to carry out dialogue teaching and cultivate primary school students’ English language competence,thereby improving the quality of primary school English dialogue teaching,and contributing to deepening the reform of primary English education. |
