In today’s world, unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)are more and more widely used both in the civilian field and the military field, especially in the recent Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict where UAVs have played an important role. However, with the popularity of drones, the uncontrollable dangers from drones and the chance of terrorist attacks have greatly increased, posing a threat to national and social security. The potential dangers of drones have drawn the attention of governments around the world and have driven the rapid development of counter-drone technologies and systems. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study anti-drone technology and methods.Counter UAVs was published in Russia in 2021,with a total of 147 pages and about27855 words. It aims to provide military discipline learning materials for military officers, students of college with military centers(faculties),and s trainees of military academies. It is a teaching reference book and belongs to the teaching scientific style. The book examines the classification, response and application of counter-drone technology, citing numerous examples of the Russian military’s operational use of drones in Syria,as well as the most current mainstream and cutting-edge technical equipment and tactical warfare methods for countering drones in the world’s leading countries. In this report, the second chapter of Counter UAVs,the Method of detecting and Counter UAVs and the third chapter, the ways and Methods to defend against UAVs and the conclusion are selected as translation objects, with about 19000 words.Alexander Davidovich Schweitzer,a well-known Russian educator, linguist, and translation theorist,is a leading researcher of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and has very unique insights into the concepts of equivalence and adequacy, especially into the hierarchy and types of equivalence in translation.Based on the stylistic features of the original text, this report chooses the equivalence in translation of Schwitzer as a guide, from the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic levels of research. This report consists of three parts: introduction, main text and summary, respectively. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the background and practical significance of this translation practice,as well as the guiding theory. The second part is the main text, which is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the background of translation practice, the main contents of the original text and the practical value of the translation materials;Chapter 2 analyzes the rhetorical characteristics and linguistic features of the original text;Chapter 3 describes the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, translation using translation-aid software, quality checking and translation proofreading.Chapter 4 is a theoretical exposition and case study, which introduces Schweitzer‘s equivalence in translation, division of equivalent levels and the classification of translation conversion and analyzes the translation methods adopted in the translation process through translation examples;Chapter 5 expounds the difficulties and solutions in the translation process, and puts forward suggestions for future translation work based on the experience of this translation practice. The third part is the conclusion, which summarizes the whole translation report and points out the theoretical and practical significance of this report.
