As the product of the development of Internet,digital marketing is an essential choice for enterprises to compete in the fierce marketing environment,and a necessary skill for all marketers.In this translation practice project,the author selects the first and eighth chapters of the book Absolute Essentials of Digital Marketing as the source text.The original text covers digital marketing,and the text has a clear structure and sophisticated theories,which make it suitable as the source text of the translation practice.Based on the communication theory,the author chooses Laswell’s 5W model to guide the whole translation process.With the interdisciplinary cross research method and case analysis method,the author wants to analyze how do the communication elements affect the translation process.On the grounds of the characteristics and key points of the cases,the author gives a detail analysis of the four elements of translator(who),target text(say what),language(in which channel),readers(to whom).And based on the analysis of the four elements,the author finds out the key and major difficulties in translation process and chooses targeted translation methods and skills to improve the quality and communication effect of this translation practice.Therefore,the author hopes to provide a interdisciplinary perspective for translation process analysis.In addition,the guidance of communication theory can provide effective solution to translation issues and improve the quality and readability of the target texts.
