| While the depiction of cats belongs to the family of Chinese bird and flower painting,this paper focuses on the creation and representation of cats in brush and figure painting,and attempts to link theoretical research to practical creation.In the Song dynasty,the pet cat in the Winter Infant Play plays a supporting role in the figure painting,playing an embellished role.In the Ming and Qing dynasties,scenes of interaction between figures and animals emerged,and the relationship between cat and human became closer,with subtle changes in the size and proportion of the figures.In contemporary brush painting,the composition tends to be more subjective.The cat is gradually enlarged in the picture and the figure is relegated to a supporting role,so this essay explores the reasons behind this phenomenon and applies the findings to my own work.This paper explores the reasons behind this phenomenon and applies the research findings to my own work,experimenting with new compositional approaches and more subjective treatment of the cat’s form to express the emotional attachment of a companion pet,thereby revealing more deeply the relationship between animals and humans. |
